Since bankruptcy, GM adds 6,900 to payrolls
General Motors has added or recalled 6,900 workers in the United States since emerging from Chapter 11 bankruptcy last year, Vice Chairman Steve Girsky said today. About, 1,100 of the jobs are in Michigan, GM said.
Girsky also said he expects that “people will be encouraged” by GM’s second-quarter financial report, due out later this month. GM posted an $865-million profit for the first quarter ended March 31.
