An actor from the TV drama series "Sons of Anarchy" has been arrested after he allegedly tried to hit a Glendale police officer during a traffic stop.

Mark Hiedrich, 55, of Los Angeles, was taken into custody around 4:40 p.m. Tuesday on suspicion of misdemeanor resisting arrest and misdemeanor battery on a peace officer, according to Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz. Heidrich, also known as Mark Boone Junior, was driving in Montrose when an officer stopped him at Ramsdell and Honolulu avenues for talking on his cell phone and not wearing a seatbelt, Lorenz said. An argument ensued and as the officer tried to handcuff the actor, a struggle broke out, causing the officer to fall to the ground, Lorenz said. Hiedrich also allegedly tried to strike the officer in the face, but missed.
