Stefan GP, who are they and will they race in 2010 F1 GP series?
There is a lot of talk surrounding a Formula One team named Stefan Grand Prix of late, despite the fact that there is no mention of it in the FIA entry list for the upcoming 2010 Formula One championship season.
However, it appears as if they are pressing ahead with plans to enter the series, despite not having an official entry, as all thirteen grid slots have been filled, with the recent news that their contender has passed the mandatory FIA crash tests.
“StefanGP announce that our car Stefan S-01 successfully passed crash tests. That is done internally by independent outsourcing company,” they said on their official website. “These tests are performed under strict FIA mandatory rule implementation and are carried as pre-test for confirmation of design and manufacturing of car. (The) Car will undergo full FIA tests as scheduled by the end of January 2010.”
The team is owned by Mr Zoran Stefanovic who was recently at the Toyota Motorsport Factory in Cologne to meet with Mr. Kinoshita and other leading members of the former F1 outfit, intensifying a rumour that a deal is on the verge of being done for the purchase of the team.
Jobs have been advertised on their site as well with a post stating that applicants will be favoured if they have previously worked for the Toyota team with a closing date of 1st of March 2010.
Just when the Serbian based outfit think they will be actually competing in the pinnacle of Motorsports is anyone’s guess, but it appears as if they will be there ready and willing to go as soon as the next team decides to drop out....
