SYNC 911 assist now improved with GPS location tracking, says Ford

At the National Emergency Number Association 2010 conference, Ford issued a press release to announce the addition of a new feature for its SYNC 911 Assist application. Ford said that a vehicle’s location can be sent to emergency responders with the use of GPS coordinates.

Quote from the article:
When there’s an accident that results to an airbag being activated or an emergency fuel pump shutoff, 911 Assist can make a call directly to a local emergency operator. But the feature would have to be turned on and a phone has to be Bluetooth-paired to SYNC for this to work.
