Team ORECA aims for Petit Le Mans contest
With a fifth place finish in LMP1 this past June at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Team ORECA-Matmut-AIM has now tossed their hat in the ring as one of the European/Asian teams filing entries for the American Le Mans Series Petit Le Mans event at Road Atlanta. It is not a surprise for the teams outside of North America take on the 10-hour or 1,000 miles race in Braselton, GA.

Peugeot Sports recently announced they would field two cars for the September 26th endurance event. Both teams will bring the fight for the podium to the Acura teams who lead the point standings for this year's ALMS P1 crown. While Peugeot and ORECA are not in the championship contention of the American series, they could affect the outcome in what will be the penultimate race for the ALMS.
This weekend, the team is in Portimao, Portugal at the Autodromo International do Algarve circuit for the third round of the Le Mans European Series with drivers Oliver Panis and Nicolas Lapierre.
