Quote from the article:
Before sentencing Craig Haines, who holds an entry-level position in the motorcycle club, Ontario Court Justice Ann Alder chastised him for the pleasure he seemed to derive from instilling fear in others. “Terrorizing people, beating people, dealing drugs is not a game,” Alder said. “It seemed to be a game to you.” Prosecutor Roderick Sonley said Haines, 29, was the “right-hand man” to Hells Angels Nomad Mario “Five Cent” Sincennes in a criminal organization that attempted to take over the cocaine trade in the St. Lawrence Seaway towns of Brockville, Prescott and Gananoque. Rival dealers who resisted the group’s overtures were subjected to violence, including beatings at Haines’ Marier Avenue garage — which were secretly recorded by police. On a police wiretap of one of the beatings, Haines can be heard complaining about a victim bleeding on his boat. In another, Haines says “I really want to baseball bat your f-----g head” to a man who begs him to stop. |
