The all new BMW X5




BWM announce the new X5 today in a press release, calling it "The original - now even more extreme" a statement that has alot to live up to. With new body design touches while keeping the raw essence of the older X5, the NEW X% comes with a new enhanced 4-wheel drive system, engines that have increased power and fuel efficency.


More dynamic, efficient and luxurious than ever, the new BMW X5 continues to strengthen its leading position within the competitive environment of four-wheel driven premium vehicles. Selective design modifications authentically express enhanced sporting characteristics and a completely new engine portfolio combines the highest level of driving pleasure with unprecedented efficiency.

The BMW X5’s bodywork design is characterised by harmonious proportions expressing both the powerful elegance and agility of the vehicle. The newly interpreted design vocabulary typical of BMW X models comprises above all the structure of the front apron and the position of the standard fog lamps as well as a redesigned rear apron adopting the structure of the front end. An increase in the percentage of front and rear end surfaces painted in body colour emphasises the on-road characteristics of the BMW X5, thereby reflecting the vehicle’s higher level of sportiness.



The interior of the new BMW X5 impresses with a high degree of variability and a luxurious ambience. The high seating position permits
an optimum view of the current traffic situation. The standard equipment includes the latest generation of the iDrive control system, which offers additional possibilities for convenient and intuitive control of all standard and optional audio, navigation and telecommunication functions. The flexibly utilisable luggage compartment can be extended from a capacity of 620 litres to a maximum of 1,750 litres. Thanks to third-row seats, the BMW X5 can accommodate up to seven persons.


A completely revised engine range ensures that the BMW X5 will continue to strengthen its leading role as the most dynamic vehicle in its segment. It comprises a V8 and a straight six-cylinder petrol power unit featuring BMW TwinPower Turbo and direct injection as well as two versions of the latest generation of BMW six-cylinder diesel engines. Power output ranges from 180 kW/245 bhp to 300 kW/407 bhp. In spite of significantly improved performance, fuel consumption and emission levels are up to 10 percent lower compared to their predecessors. An eight-speed automatic transmission contributes additionally towards enhancing the efficiency, dynamics and motoring comfort of the new BMW X5.

The model range is complemented by the BMW X5 M, an extremely performance-oriented exception in its competitive environment. This high
M TwinPower Turbo technology. All versions of the new BMW X5 fulfil the EU5 emission standard in Europe and ULEV II in the USA respectively.
