Today's the Day : National Ride to Work Day

The main focus of Ride to Work Day is to show the usefulness of a motorcycle as everyday transportation. Bringing awareness to others is something that motorcyclists are used to being a part of. However, there are some other benefits that many may not realize.

Quote from the article:
For instance the most immediate benefit is the fresh air during your morning commute. Instead of being in a car in traffic, surrounded by the smell of whatever your kids may have spilled in there the night before, you could be on a bike with the smell of fresh cut grass, or flowers, or the perfume of the woman in the convertible in front of you.

During the day at work, you could possibly make new friends, or at least riding buddies. Seeing all the others who are sporting helmet hair will point out who else owns a bike, offering you the opportunity to strike up a conversation. By the end of the week, you may have a ride set up in an area that you have never been before.

Last and most importantly, you will gain your sanity. There is a saying, “You never see a motorcycle parked in front of a psychiatrist’s office.” Long day at the office? Throw a leg over the bike and take the long way home. As you spend your time concentrating on the ride, feeling the bike pull your soul through the curves, you suddenly stop thinking about work and anything that happened there. If you ride on a regular basis, you may even wind up hating your job less.
