Nine strange Walmart parking lot photos

We have seen (and love) People of Walmart and wondered what it would be like to put an automotive spin on it and see what goes on outside of Walmart. We combined images found all over the internet along with spending numerous hours sitting in a Walmart parking lot observing and taking photos to examine the strange things you might see. So much was going on that we expect to spend many more hours visiting Walmarts from New York to Florida and turning this stupid idea into a series over. It’s not exactly Dateline to Catch a Predator, but then what is? So, we start the series with a simple concept with nothing more then a simple top 10 of interesting WalMart photos.

Alligator captured in Walmart parking lot

A 7-foot-long alligator was caught in the parking lot of the Walmart on Hilton Head Island December 14th after surprising some shoppers and employees. Walmart customer service representative Margaret Horton called Joe Maffo, president of Critter Management Inc., after noticing the reptile's head near a bike rack at the front entrance at about 10:30 p.m. The alligator was "disposed of" by Critter Management Inc. Port St. Lucie police shock man with stun gun in Walmart parking lot

This story is less about the incident and more about the mugshot. Plus it has tasers in it, which we never grow tired of. It also happened just miles from my home. Look at those chompers! Port St. Lucie Police officer shocked a 49-year-old Jensen Beach man with a stun gun after he threatened to kill two people. Joseph Cosmo Rummo, of the 600 block of Northeast Terrace, is charged with assault, tampering with a victim, battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting officer without violence, carrying a concealed weapon, unlawful alteration of a vehicle tag and driving with license suspended with knowledge. Rummo was driving in the store’s parking lot when he stopped and told a man and woman he would kill them.

Scooter rider catches robber at Wal-Mart

10Connects was out at Wal-Mart doing a interview with Charles Salvatore, who will ride his motorized scooter from Zephyrhills to Alaska to raise awareness of liver diseases for the American Liver Foundation. While they were interviewing Salvatore, a man on a bicycle grabbed a money container from Salvatore's 10-year-old nephew who was helping the family with the fundraiser. The suspect ran from the Wal-Mart and bystanders and family gave chase. Video at the link above.

Chase ends with car driving into Wal-Mart

This guy led police on a high speed chase and entered a Walmart parking lot. After making a few laps around the lot, the officers thought they had the suspect cornered. Instead, he made for the front entrance doors. As the driver approached the doors, he paused to allow the automatic doors to part, and then drove into Wal-Mart. He went straight down the main aisle shoppers enter. Some of the shoppers in the immediate vicinity seemed unfazed by the fact that a car had rumbled into the store. Some certainly fled. But some stood by and watched. Others continued to shop within feet of the action. By the way, this seems to happen on a pretty regular basis.

Wal-Mart Camping - Parking Lot Pleasures

A lot of people are unaware that Walmart offers free parking for RVs and campers. This also makes for what should be unusual photos scattered around the internet, for example grabbing a quick tan in the parking lot. We found this story used for the link to an editorial from a person who just discovered this. “We didn't know, but the old man at a campground in Florida insisted WalMart not only allowed RVs and vans to park overnight, but encouraged it. Somewhere in northern Georgia we pulled into a Wal-Mart, and sure enough, we saw some RVs off to one side of the parking lot, looking like they were there for the night. We were heading back to Michigan in our conversion van, and free camping sounded good to us. We parked, plugged in our 5-inch T.V., and settled in for the night. Nobody bothered us. In the morning we used the bathrooms inside, and bought some orange juice.” Now you know why you might find RV strength bug remover, for example, in the automotive section of Walmart.

Woman Found Dead at Wal-Mart in Cullman

Cullman authorities are investigating a woman's death. Patricia Glasscock, 47, was found dead in the parking lot of Wal-Mart on Monday afternoon. The coroner, Gary Murphree, says a couple parked next to the woman's truck on Monday, and noticed her in her truck, thinking she was asleep. They went inside to shop. When they were finished shopping, they returned to their vehicle and noticed she was still in the same position. They opened the woman's door to check on her, and discovered she was dead. Man, if she was in an RV, it could have went weeks!

And a few more that do not have stories to go along with them. The first is someone camping in a Walmart parking lot. Nothing unusual here except that he has a tent setup rather than an RV. No way to stake that tent down! Next we have a random picture of a lady taking a nap against the curb. This is wrong for so many reasons. I can’t figure out what she is wearing or why she is sleeping there. I guess it seems like a good idea if you were really hammered and the Walmart has a McDonalds for your morning breakfast sandwich. Last, but not least we have a Honda Civic. You can find a cool car just like this at almost any Walmart, usually parked as you enter the parking lot taking up a few spaces. Coming soon, more stickers and spoilers.
