Toyko preview: Honda U3-X

Honda will unveil a new personal mobility contraption that looks not unlike a unicycle.
The U3-X allows 360-degree movment and the rider can adjust the speed and direction simply by shifting their bodyweight.
Honda's will unveil it at Tokyo Motor Show next month and its press release says it has 'reinvented the wheel'. It's a bold claim, although we think the U3-X doesn't offer much more functionality than the Segway.
The new device uses technologies that were featured in Honda's Asimo project, and in particular balance control that allowed the robot to stand, walk and run in a controlled manner.
