Uh-Oh: 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8 spied with trailer
I love the SRT-8 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Why? Most people would not recognize it and many I talk to are unaware it even exists. If you didn’t notice it mostly by its low profile or SRT-8 badging then it is easy to miss. 0-60 times on prior models were under 5 seconds meaning you can run to the grocery store and race a Mustang or Challenger on the way back and see the surprised look on their faces. Downside? Only two I can think of. Gas mileage has been known to drop into the 9-10 MPG range when beating on it and the dual exhaust takes up the space where a trailer hitch could go, looking exactly like the Viper rear exhaust. It appears InsideLine has spotted the car in testing and Chrysler might have been listening to many of us who really want to tow with it as well as get groceries and race around. 6.4 litre V8 is due out and would be a perfect fit to make this even quicker. The perfect package? I think so.

It's badged as a 4x4 Limited model, but there's little doubt that this is a prototype for the next-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8. Note for instance the enormous front fascia that hangs low just like the original Grand Cherokee SRT8's did. Note further the pooched-out fenders, big black wheels, massive tires and conspicuously lowered ride height.
