Quote from the article:
Hours before motorcycles rumbled along Victoria Road as the ride began shortly after 1 p.m., undercover police, including specialists with the outlaw motorcycle gang unit based in Vancouver, used binoculars and took photographs as bikers arrived. The 17th staging of the ride, which recognizes the spring anniversary of the disappearance of local club member Edward "Zeke" Mickle, who vanished in 1993, brought Hells Angels members from chapters across B.C. to the city. Police on Saturday said they were doing more "intelligence-gathering" rather than proactive enforcement. |
