Former Renault test driver Jose Maria Lopez will be named as a driver for the US F1 team on Monday, according to the driver's spokesman. The deal to be announced Monday includes sponsorship package of about $8 million,

Lopez, who turns 27 in April, won the championship in Argentina's TC 2000 touring car championship in 2008 and 2009. He was tipped to be a driver for US F1 in November, provided he could assemble a sponsorship package. In early 2007 Lopez ran in the American Le Mans Series, driving a Ferrari 430 GT for Corsa Motorsports in the Sebring 12-hour race and for Risi Competizione at St. Petersburg.
