Volkswagen Polo Is World Car Of The Year
The Volkswagen Polo has been named World Car of the Year for 2010 in a ceremony hosted by the New York International Auto Show. The Polo beat its fellow short-listers, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and the Toyota Prius, to the title, and gave Volkswagen its second WCOTY title in two years, the Golf having won in 2009.
"The 59 jurors, spread around 25 countries across the world, were fulsome in their praise of the Polo: "Holding its own in the most competitive market segment, the all-new Polo MkV is one of VW's star performers. Boasting best-in-segment packaging and handling, this supermini's blend of classy looks, reliability and quality has meant it's consistently been one the market's best-sellers."
