Want a shot of Wild Turkey - in your face?
A 20 pound wild turkey flew up into a bikers face. The biker wasn't wearing a helmet as she was cruising down the road at 60 miles an hour. She says she's glad she wasn't wearing a helmet.=
Sarasota County, Florida - Lori Hansen is a school teacher who rides her Harley Springer Classic motorcycle to work everyday and says, "I'm used to looking for animals and hogs and deer and stuff."
Her bike is out of commission now, though, after an accident with a wild turkey last Saturday. Hansen was cruising along State Road 72 in Sarasota when she says, "Out of the corner of my eye, I saw something coming at me."

In an instant, she says, the wild turkey flew up and hit her in the face. "I remember being hit and that's all I remember because it knocked me right out." Hansen went limp and her bike drifted off the road. She slammed into two barbed wire fences, ripping her bicep but bypassing any major arteries and nerves. She has various cuts on her upper body and a slashed cheek but no broken bones. She had to be airlifted to the hospital, where she spent four days receiving treatment. |
