WTCC: Fabio Fabiani joins Proteam for Imola
Reigning Super Production ETC Cup champion Fabio Fabiani is going to drive for Proteam Motorsport during the WTCC race at Imola.
"We are very happy about having Fabiani in our team for the Imola event. He is a hugely respected italian driver and has many supporters, which will make the weekend even more interesting," said Proteam team owner Valmiro Presenzini Mattoli.
Regular Proteam driver Félix Porteiro is currently second in the Yokohama Independent's Trophy, 18 points behind the leader - Tom Coronel.
"Our main goal is still to bring Félix (Porteiro) back to the top of the standings, and it would be great to achieve that goal in our home race," said Mattoli.
"The driver and the whole team are highly motivated to try and bring home an important result, in order to be in the best possible position ahead of the Asian events, due after Imola."
