Jose Melton, a 23-year-old Gaithersburg man was jailed and then taken to a Rockville hospital after he reportedly robbed a gas station, intentionally banged his head, assaulted three officers, and escaped from the hospital.

Tuesday night, officers say the Melton entered the station just before 10:00 p.m., demanded cash and threatened to shoot an employee.
