Nürburgring officially for sale - 170 million estimate

The Nürburgring racetrack in Germany is officially up for sale this week. The sale of the 12.8-mile, 154-turn track includes the salaries of 300 employees, but not the $515-million debt that caused the 'Ring's bankruptcy.
Autoweek says that interested parties must raise their hands by June 12; estimates for the sale price are near $170 million.

Kyle Larson managed to dodge a serious wreck at the Texas Motor Speedway, after he narrowly misses being hit by multiple cars.
As if that wasn't lucky enough, he then limps back to the pit area for new tires. New tires on, and ready to race he gets back out onto the track, and blows one of the replaced tires causing him to lose control again and almost take out the safety truck.

So how does it feel to lose to your own back tire? Probably better than his counterpart who actually came in third behind the wheel, and a 360 degree spinning out of control sled.
He does have to be at least a little grateful that he finished the race at all. Maybe the pit crew thought that by not tightening the lug nuts it would be a good April fool’s prank. He still manages to put on quite a show by doing that perfect 360 and then making it all the way to the end of the 1/4 mile still on the track!

Patrick O'Gorman drove Mark Heidaker's Hennessey-prepared Ford GT to a new Texas Mile world record speed of 267.6 mph. "Camo GT" broke it's previous standing mile record speed of 263.3 mph which was also set at the October, 2012 running of the Texas Mile. Want to add some more power to your ride?

Jeff Bloch who happens to be a police officer and group of friends toiled away in his garage all winter long. Tinkering, welding, melding, and finally creating this one off vehicle that took first place in an endurance race. The race is set up for Craigslist beater cars, but Bloch wanted to do more, so he asked himself "why not a Craigslist beater airplane instead?" From there it was on.
The group that dubbed themselves SpeedyCop and the Gang of Outlaws took a 1956 Cessna 310, and put it on a 1987 Toyota van chassis, and called the creation 'Spirit of LeMons'. It is about 27 feet long, and has a top speed of 90 mph, not shabby at all for a winter Frankenstein car.

Aboard V-Rod motorcycles painted to celebrate the Harley-Davidson 110th Anniversary, riders Ed Krawiec and Andrew Hines qualified for Pro Stock Motorcycle eliminations, and each rider won in the first round on Sunday.The Gatornationals was the first Pro Stock Motorcycle event of the 2013 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, and the first to run under new rules that forced the defending champion Screamin’ Eagle/Vance & Hines team to design and build a new two-valve pushrod engine and alter its Screamin’ Eagle V-Rod motorcycles, a project that was completed just days before the season-opening event at Gainesville.

I especially like the rider perspective footage that has been made possible with helmet cams. It catches all the action good and bad, just as if you were the one doing it.
This is one of the times that I am quite happy that I am 'steering' the keyboard, and not actually riding the ride. I hope that this rider spent as much on the actual helmet as he did on the camera!
