Biker deaths inexcusable - We will say it again, Watch out for bikers

It never ceases to amaze me the lengths at which the media and the various police entities will go to excuse the drivers of vehicles that kill bikers.
I’ve lost count of the times the driver of the auto fails to yield right of way to a biker and it’s reported the biker “wasn’t wearing a helmet,” as though that caused the accident.
This latest incident is yet another example, this time though the “excuse” is the biker “was traveling at a high rate of speed.” I guess if he were riding under the speed limit and the truck pulled out in front of him and killed him then another excuse would have been found: not any reflective clothing, sun reflecting off the window, anything but the undeniable fact that the truck failed to yield right of way as required by law.
