Pedego and Big Wheel Bikes Unveil New Eco-Friendly Pedego Electric Bike on 40th Anniversary of Earth Day

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Earth Day on Thursday, April 22, 3:00-7:00 PM, Big Wheel Bikes at 3119 Lee Highway (Lyon Village Shopping Center) in Arlington, Virginia, introduces the innovative new Pedego Electric Bicycles to the DC area at a special unveiling.
"Saving energy is the key to America's future," said DC-area Pedego distributor Alan Levine (www.hybridpedals.com). "Every bike we put on the road is one less car."

Levine invited all Virginia legislators, Arlington County Board and DC City Council members, and DC's mayor to attend the unveiling and test the bikes. "On Earth Day, everybody talks the talk, and some walk the walk. Let's see who rides the ride," challenged Levine.

"Pedego of Irvine, California, offers the highest-quality electric bicycles in America. They enable anyone, regardless of age, ability, or physical condition to rediscover the joy of bike riding. They are ideal for persons with heart or respiratory issues, amputees, or wounded warriors," said Levine.

Pedego Electric Bicycles function as ordinary pedal bikes, but at a touch of the throttle, their zero-emission motors silently kick in to enable riders surmount even steep hills. The bikes can go up to 30 miles at speeds up to 20 MPH on one four-hour charge. "Under Federal law, electric bikes require neither license nor registration," said Eric Fingerhut of International Cycling Law Association (eric.fingerhut@cyclinglaw.org).

One Pedego model, the Umbrella Folding Bike compresses in one second to be small enough to fit in a compact car trunk, to store in a closet, or take on Metro.

Big Wheel Bikes, with locations in Alexandria, Arlington, Bethesda, Georgetown, and Potomac, serves as the official repair and maintenance center for Pedego Electric Bicycles. For more information about Big Wheel Bikes, see www.bigwheelbikes.com

The Italian Store and Dr. Delivery, an Arlington-based multi-restaurant delivery company, provide refreshments, food, and live entertainment during the unveiling.
