This is a Lander style game with bright, cartoon-like graphics, 5 star rating and a limited time price drop from $2.99 to free.

Prior to today you could download a free training mission or pay $2.99 for the full game. The game has been well established and had plenty of time for people rate it and for the developer to fine tune it with the last update being April of 2012. At 384 MB you will need time and some space on your iOS device to download and play.



The game play is similar to Lander; however the crash system is friendlier than I remember from the old arcade game. I spent a few minutes trying the first level 3 or 4 times to get used to the way it controls and to change the only 2 settings that you need; reverse side thrusters and the location of the side thruster controls. In the game you have a large oval with left and right thrusters and a smaller circle that controls the up thrust. So, it simply moves these to opposite sides of the screen and makes the left, right and vice versa depending how you like it. If you have difficulty on the first level then change these settings. OpenFeint is optional to follow leader boards, challenges and the usual stuff. I thought playing on the iPhone would be difficult but they really have it perfectly set up. It can be a little tight, but it works.



You have 2 game modes with 50 identical levels for each mode. One requires you not only complete the level but you also collect a set amount of stars. The other mode is simply a time challenge where you try to get there as fast as you can.

I see why this has a 4.5 – 5.0 rating, even after all of this time. The gameplay is simple, fun and challenging. The levels will keep you busy for hours. Whether you’re a fan of the original Lander, or even a youngster who has never heard of it, it won’t matter. This game is a home run. Grab it ASAP while it is still free!
