Once pulled over, Deputy Pedro Garcia from Key Largo spotted saw a prescription pill bottle on the driver’s side floor board and called in back up. Diaz gave consent for the officers to search his car. In the pull bottle was Xanax and Oxycodone. A second bottle was found which contained Acetaminophen with Hydrocodone. A third bottle, found behind the passenger seat, contained miscellaneous pills and a plastic bag with marijuana inside.
Nope, not done yet; In the trunk of the car, the officers found a “Shark Bites” snack box with two more plastic bags of marijuana inside. $500 in cash was also found in Diaz’ pocket. Total weight of all the marijuana was 65 grams.
Diaz was arrested. He was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell, two counts possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and four counts possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into jail.
